Plate Recognizer VisionAlert
Get real-time alerts for blocked, moved, blurred or glared cameras in any environment. VisionAlert differentiates between temporary and permanent obstructions, minimizing false positives with added human intelligence.
Getting Started with FTP
Get FTP Credentials
After purchasing a VisionAlert FTP license, you'll need to obtain your FTP credentials to start uploading camera snapshots.
-
Visit the VisionAlert FTP Credentials page to access your unique FTP credentials.
-
You'll receive the following information:
- FTP Server Address
- FTP Username
- FTP Password
Set Up Camera Folders
To properly organize your camera snapshots, you need to create specific folders for each camera on the FTP server:
-
Connect to the FTP server using the credentials provided.
-
In the root directory, create folders for each camera using the following structure:
/vision-alert/<camera_name>/
For example:
/vision-alert/entrance-camera/
/vision-alert/parking-camera/
/vision-alert/lobby-camera/ -
The
<camera_name>
must match exactly the camera name you'll add manually in the VisionAlert configuration dashboard.
You can only upload one image per camera every 15 minutes. Uploading more frequently will not improve detection.
Configure FTP with Vision Alert
-
To start configuring, go to the VisionAlert Settings.
-
On the dashboard, you'll find a list of licenses. To configure your FTP license, simply click "Manage" next to it.
-
On the license configuration page, you'll need to manually add your cameras as described in the Configure VisionAlert guide.
-
For each camera, make sure the name matches exactly the folder name you created on the FTP server (without the
/vision-alert/
prefix). -
After adding cameras, you'll need to upload a reference snapshot for each camera using the "Upload Snapshot" button on each camera row.
